Everyone was still sleeping when Jordan walked into the Great Hall. He hastily walked over to the Hufflepuff table and grabbed a few pieces of toast. Jordan took a bite as he filled a goblet with pumpkin juice. Not wanting to get roped into a conversation he would have no interest in, Jordan picked up the goblet and left the room before anyone else could arrive to hold him up. He glanced around as he passed through the entrance hall. He not worried about getting in trouble. It was a Saturday which meant there were no classes. Jordan pushed open the door the heavy doors of the castle and stepped outside into the morning sun. It was slightly chilly out and Jordan was thankful that he grabbed his long sleeved shirt.
Jordan passed through the gardens as he made his way to the Black Lake. He loved to sit on it's shore in the early morning hours. It was the perfect place to think or study. Jordan had spent of his time preparing for his OWLs sitting by the still water of the lake. This morning there was something else on his mind. His family had arranged for him to marry a young girl that he'd never met. It didn't bother him at all. He would do anything to improve his family's station, especially if it meant being the good graces of Daniel Marsden. He had heard that the girl was resistant, to say the least.
As Jordan sat down by the lake a cold breeze blew and once again he was thankful for the extra layer of clothing. He had to think of a way to make this arranged engagement work. How could he do it if he had never even met the girl? She went to Hogwarts, he was certain it. It had been three years since the arrangement was made but still, Jordan saw no signs of the girl. All he had was a name. Keaira Callaghan. Jordan had questioned quite a few people in the last few years about her but always came away no information.
Quickly, Jordan finished his toast and pumpkin juice. With a sly smile he laid down with his hands beneath his head. There had to be a way to find the girl and convince her that this arrangement was the best thing for the both of them. His family was very powerful and they would never have to want for anything. If Jordan could join the Seven and become close to Marsden then things would be even better for them. Jordan sighed heavily and closed his eyes for a moment. He wondered if he was being foolish or not. There was no need to rush things. If he didn't meet her at Hogwarts then he would surely meet her after they graduated. Jordan's smile widened and he was able to relax a bit more. He opened his eyes and laid there silently as he watched the clouds move across the sky.
