The ceremony was over and he had eaten enough food to satisfy his appetite for the moment. He walked out the doors of the entrance hall and looked at the night sky. Adarian silently cursed himself for losing control the way he had. Even though his hand were still shaking he pulled himself up to his full height and clinched his jaw shut. He wasn't going to allow his emotions to run him. He returned his piercing blue eyes to his friend that was now unconscious in the Headmaster's arms. Joseph's breathing was still heavy. It would be awhile before he could catch his breath good, and the fact that he was now dealing with an emergency, and what could very well possibly be an attack by Marsden wasn't helping. He looked through the gates as Adarian swore loudly. Ignoring his Head Boy's lack of calmness, the headmaster saw the girl for the first time as two Aurors picked her up, trying to get her onto her feet.

It was the first night of term, so the Sorting Ceremony and feast was taking place as usual. The Great Hall was currently filled with staff and students alike, enjoying the food and socializing with each other. Many of the people there hadn't seen each other for two months, while some of the teachers had been back together for a couple of weeks now. Redundant. That's what Adarian thought of the sorting ceremony as he silently crept out of the Great Hall. He may have been relieved to be back at Hogwarts but the sorting ceremony never really changed. He secretly hoped that they'd spice it up every now and then. Maybe throw in some pyrotechnics or dry ice.
